"I Can Do It Too" Special Needs Program is a sensory/motor/gymnastics program for children all ages with any minimal to severe physical, mental, emotional, social, language, and/or sensory challenges, including:

ican-no2.jpg (30024 bytes)This program was founded and developed in September of 1996 at Rebounders Gymnastics in Timonium by Heidi Soerensen, an Occupational Therapist.   The program was designed to provide the opportunity for children with special needs to participate in a motor program as an affordable alternative to needed therapies, in addition to therapies, and/or as a recreational activity.  The program combines sensory stimulation, gross motor activities, and gymnastics to facilitate learning, and growth in all aspects of human functioning.  Furthermore, it offers students the opportunity to be integrated in a safe and fun environment with non-challenged children.

Classes are taught by Heidi Soerensen, an Occupational Therapist and/or Special Educators

 

Approach - The "I Can Do It Too" Program emphasizes sensory / vestibular stimulation through:

Class Options

bulletIndividual Classes - Teacher works one on one with child individually.  This classes are scheduled on an individual basis.
bulletIntegrational Classes - Child participated in an integration lesson within a regular Rebounders class
bulletSmall Groups (with Integration) - Teacher works with child in a small group of 2 - 4 children: class time depending on age and level of children.

Ready...Set...Go/Koalas

A program integrating educational readiness, sensory motor, fine and gross motor activities.  Story related activities include:  story reading with extension activities, sensory motor exploration and gymnastics, arts and crafts, dramatic interactive play, and communication and social games.  Class is intended for typically developing children ages 3 to 6 years and children with special needs ages 3 to 8 years.  Fees are $300 per 12-week session or $180 per 6-week sessionClasses are offered Saturdays 9:00 am -10:30 am and 11:00 am -12:30 pm.
